This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage rendr uses and why. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| rendr_session | Keeps you signed in. Without it every page load would ask for your password again. | Strictly necessary cookie | Until sign out, or up to 30 days; refreshed after 7 days of activity |
| g_oauth_state | Protects the “Continue with Google” sign-in flow against forged requests. | Strictly necessary cookie | 10 minutes |
| g_oauth_next | Preserves a validated invitation return path while Google completes sign-in. | Strictly necessary cookie | 10 minutes |
| rendr.consent.v1 | Local storage, not a cookie. Remembers whether you allow optional product analytics. | Preference / consent record | Until you change the choice or clear browser storage |
| ph_<project-key>_posthog | Local storage, not a cookie. Stores a pseudonymous analytics identifier and measurement state only when analytics are enabled for the deployment and you opt in. | Optional product analytics | Until you withdraw consent or clear browser storage |
The session and Google sign-in cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and are served with the Secure flag in production. The session cookie holds a signed reference to your account, not your password.
rendr does not run advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. The PostHog analytics SDK loads only when analytics are enabled for the deployment and you have explicitly opted in; autocapture and session recording are disabled. Withdrawing consent stops capture and clears PostHog browser storage. There is no ad network embedded in the product, and we do not sell browsing data to one.
When you choose Google sign-in or open Stripe Checkout or the billing portal, you visit pages operated by those providers and their own storage practices apply. Some optional app features also request third-party assets, such as document/PDF import helpers and YouTube thumbnails; those services receive ordinary browser request information. Generation providers are normally contacted by rendr's servers rather than setting cookies in your browser. See Subprocessors for the service-provider list.
You can change optional analytics at any time through “Privacy choices” in the site footer or the app's Data & Privacy settings. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser. Blocking the session cookie will sign you out and prevent sign-in, because the product cannot identify your account without it.
